FIP medicine is dosed according to weight and Felix gained 700-800 grams just in a month!! Im super happy that Felix is getting stronger but every time he get weight, our treatment cost increases. We’ve 60 days left.

Hospitalization
Felix was reacting a lot to the injections also had diarrhea and loss of his appetite. He stayed at vet clinic for 12 days. They asked €25 daily.
We cannot continue like this. 84 days hospitalization will cost so much. Oral FIP medications are more expensive than injection ones however its more affordable than hospitalization fees. Im planning to take Felix at home and switch to oral FIP medication tablets.

FIP TREATMENT
We need to run some blood tests every 2-4 week for observing how he is responding to the treatment. If everything goes well monthly tests are okey, If any problem occurs the tests can be made earlier. Like every 2 weeks etc. so its not possible to provide exact cost but if anything extra wont pop up 3 CBC and 3 Biochemistry will cost around €350.
Also toxoplasmosis can cause balance problems too. For understanding is it FIP alone or with toxoplasmosis we have to run toxo test too. We couldn’t do this test because of our limited budget. (Toxo elisa test costs €70)
In total we need min €420 for test (ultrasound and extra tests are excluded.)
And the cost of the FIP medication changes according to the weight. I can only give an apx. price. Our weight is 2.5kg now, dose is x12mg/kg (neuro and wet combination dose) in total we will need around 22 flacons of FIP medicine. And each flacons cost €42. In total it costs €924

When he got sick, they abandoned this cat to my garden. His balance is not good, his belly is very swollen. I was suspected from FIP and we run some tests. Unfortunately results are FIP positive.
Looks like mix neurological and wet FIP. There is obvious balance walking signs.
Because of the mix combination form the medication dose will be higher.

Our story started with Yasam. One day in my garden I saw a very sick cat alone and was waiting for death. Vets couldn’t understand the dry FIP until the ocular signs started. As a university student and with a very limited budget it was impossible for me to cover the whole treatment. I started the instagram page. And after rescuing Yasam from FIP. I got very happy and decided to rescue the other cats too.
After Yasam, we made numerous treatments and operations some of them are: diapraghm, pyometra and sterilization; parasite/viral/bacterial infections, cancer, more FIP treatment. open wound treatments etc…
I’ve been keep rescuing animals for more than a year and we are receiving very little support. Our current debt to vet clinics are around €2000 and they really don’t accept any more debt.
