Treatment from 2025-11-02
Mida had a urinary blockage in February and severe gum problems in March. The blockage (which was due to stones) was treated with catheterization and special urinary food. Fortunately he hasn't had a blockage or other urinary tract issues since. I haven't been able to get his kidney values checked again (due to lack funds), but will do it as soon as I can. Regarding the gum issues, he recieved antibiotic injections 2x per day for one week. His condition has improved. He still has gum problems, but not as bad as before. He continuously recieves vitamin supplements and high quality wet food, to help with the issue. Midas lives with me in the house.
Veraflox and Synulox antibiotic treatment has now started. He needs to eat a special urinary diet and take urinary supplements. Veraflox: 1,500 TL Synulox: 700 TL Monthly urinary food (6 months): 1,500 x 6 = 9,000 TL Urodyl (urinary supplement): 1,750 TL Total cost of necessary medications and food: 12,950 TL

Midas is around 3-4 years old, a Norwegian Forest Cat mix that I rescued when he was a kitten. However, he is currently struggling with health issues.

In February, he had to be catheterized because he couldn’t urinate at all. He has stones and crystals in his bladder. Additionally, he had severe gum issues in March that caused him pain and made him cry while eating.

Both issues were treated. His gums are still not fully healthy, but not as bad as they were. With special urinary food and supplements, he did not have any urinary tract issues since.
I am Hatime. I used to work in the pharmaceutical industry, but have now opened a cat sanctuary for (former) stray cats housing over 130 cats (as well as 6 dogs and 1 goose currently).
I rescued the first cat when I was just 7 years old and now I take care of the strays in Bursa. Many of the cats that we care for also still recieve treatments. The cats that have completed treatment and are neutered live in the biggest group at our sanctuary, where they can seek refuge in the downstairs cat play room or roam the secure garden. There is a lot of cost associated with caring for so many animals, so I hope to find supporters that want to help us make life better for the strays here.
