UPDATE: Bella has gone through so many things and now she has a severe developmental delay. We need to run some tests and our vet recommended some supplements and prescription cat food (Lucky's condition is same, they advised the same for Lucky. ) Bella walks surprisingly normal despite the fracture that she had. Just seeing her, you wouldn't know that she had such a complicated backstory, apart from the fact that she is so small.

Our dear Bella went through a tough treatment process. On October 8, 2024, when I first found Bella covered in blood, I rushed her to Pet224 Veterinary Clinic for emergency care. They told me that she had an open fracture and that they had tried to take a blood sample but couldn't because her overall condition was too poor—she was in critical condition.
A couple of days later, she started to recover slightly, and we attempted to schedule surgery for her open fracture a week later. However, the estimated costs were far beyond what I could afford, so I had no choice but to transfer Bella to another clinic. In the meantime, I was only able to pay 5,240 TL on November 22, nearly a month later, for her three days of intensive emergency care at Pet224.
Due to financial constraints, I had to move Bella to Foks Veterinary Clinic, a decision I still regret deeply. She stayed there from October 10 to October 18, but during this time, they failed to manage the infection caused by her open fracture. As a result, she developed sepsis and severe hypothermia (34°C). Despite her deteriorating condition, they tried to pressure me into an operation with almost no chance of survival. At that point, I had no choice but to take Bella out of that clinic as well.
Not only was my cat getting worse, but I was also handed a bill of 15,250 TL for those eight days of treatment. I managed to pay 5,250 TL on October 30 and another 10,000 TL on December 25.
Later, I took Bella to Fiona Animal Hospital, where a highly skilled surgeon, Elif, took care of her. After consulting with her professors, she determined that surgery was impossible at that stage and instead initiated an intensive five-day treatment focusing on sepsis and severe anemia. By the end of this treatment, Bella had almost fully recovered from the life-threatening phase, and for the first time, we managed to get a normal hemogram result.
For this treatment, I had to pay a total of 11,650 TL upfront, as it was a newly opened clinic. The payments were made as follows: 2,650 TL on October 18, 1,000 TL + 6,000 TL on October 19, 1,500 TL on October 23, and 500 TL on October 24.
Later, since Bella was a complex case, Elif wanted to consult her professors once again. They concluded that her fracture had healed slightly misaligned and that she would remain somewhat disabled. Considering that Bella, a four-to-five-month-old kitten, had already endured so much, they deemed surgery too risky. Even if the procedure went well, the pins wouldn’t hold because she was too young. Instead, they advised us to celebrate the fact that Bella had miraculously survived!
Throughout this ordeal, Bella underwent a total of seven hemograms, one biochemistry test, and eight X-rays. Overcoming all of this has been incredibly difficult for me. Though months have passed since she survived these challenges, Bella is still battling developmental delays—she remains as tiny as a baby...

After my lecture, I was walking around and noticed a girl who I thought was playing with a cat. As I approached, I realized the situation was far more serious than I had imagined.
The cat was bleeding and a broken bone was visible. This poor cat was screaming in pain.. I immediately took the cat to the vet, but they said it needed surgery.
However, the situation was much worse than we expected. The cat had a severe infection, had lost a lot of blood, and circulation was severely compromised. The vet said it wasn’t possible to survive surgery in that state, so they needed to stabilize first with aggressive treatment before performing surgery to fix the broken bone.
But things didn’t progress as we had hoped. Jacob was on the brink of giving up, and his body temperature dropped to 32°C, a life-threatening level. He had developed septic complications, and both his respiration and circulation were in a terrible condition. I was deeply worried we might lose our little cat.
The surgery was delayed multiple times. Instead of focusing on the open fracture, our team had to prioritize treating hypothermia, infection, and anemia for keeping him alive..
Miraculously, Jacob began to improve. Thank God, he managed to stabilize, however the fracture had been almost 15 days, and Jacob’s bone had healed a little, though it had healed incorrectly. Our surgeons consulted with their professors and concluded that the surgery was extremely risky. Jacob’s leg remained somewhat deformed, but at least he managed to survive.
And finally, we discovered that Jacob was actually a girl! 😂🙈 So, we’ve updated her name to Bella. 😅❤️

Our story started with Yasam. One day in my garden I saw a very sick cat alone and was waiting for death. Vets couldn’t understand the dry FIP until the ocular signs started. As a university student and with a very limited budget it was impossible for me to cover the whole treatment. I started the instagram page. And after rescuing Yasam from FIP. I got very happy and decided to rescue the other cats too.
After Yasam, we made numerous treatments and operations some of them are: diapraghm, pyometra and sterilization; parasite/viral/bacterial infections, cancer, more FIP treatment. open wound treatments etc…
I’ve been keep rescuing animals for more than a year and we are receiving very little support. Our current debt to vet clinics are around €2000 and they really don’t accept any more debt. My hands are tied now. You can see everything at yasam_animalrescue instagram page. Everything is transparent, Im sharing the bills all the time and sharing the before after things.
If you want to support us, you can directly pay to our vet clinic too. The cats I am taking care of needs support…
