Mısır was found at the seashore with an injury of his leg (half of the left back leg was missing with a wound, that was likely already a bit older). He couldn't use his back legs and his right eye was cloudy. I had to transport him in a sack hitchhiking to the vet, since I had no transport box or carrier bag with me at the time but also coulnd't leave him like this.

I came across Mısır where I was feeding cats on shore.I called cats ,most of them came running towards me when they heard my voice. I saw Mısır but he did not come for food. I fed others and then walked over to check on him. He was not able to stand on his hind leg and half of the other hind leg was missing. One of his eyes was white and cloudy, there was dark saliva signs around his mouth and his hair was matted, he was emaciated and dehydrated. I had no carrier bag or box with me, so I asked for something to the construction builders. They gave me a sack, cat was scared and hiding under garden fence. I took off my raincoat and throw it top of the cat to catch. I took cat with sack to vet clinic by hitchhiking . Vet examined him and decided he has to have serum, antibiotics, vitamins, eye drops, mouth cleansing, dewormer and flea drops. There were a lot of accumulated fleas on him. I told the vet that I suspected FIP. The vet told there are a few sickness with same symptoms and advised for observation first. Vet called me and told the diagnosis: neuro-ocular FIP. Vet asked me to choose between GS injection or tablets. Vet said Mısır was not able to eat his self and can't move anymore and can not keep his poo either. So he gave the first injection in November. stayed 10 days at clinic ,he started to eat on his own, he was able to move to use the litter box.
His blood test showed that no more elevated infection parameters, his mouth was fine, and his cloudy eyes were clear when Mısır was discharged from clinic.
I took him home. He wasn't strong yet so I gave his medicine, his supplements, his food. When Mısır arrived home, he could walk for a few steps, no more. He is now finished gs treatment at the end of january. He walks to his litter, he plays with toys, he even climbs up stairs.
I am Ayse. I live in Izmir and have started rescuing cats from the street in 1991. The first cat I rescued is Toygar. I found him with a broken leg and brougth him to the vet. Over the years, I have helped by treating and neutering more cats than I can count. In the winter, fewer people care for the strays, so at times, I even take care of 50+ cats and some dogs. I feed the stray cats in my area and usually have between 12-15 cats living at my place. I always try to find good homes for cats, that have been treated successfully and have even found homes for some of them in Germany. In addition to the cats living with me, many strays come visit my house and garden every day. Nowadways, getting the cats to the clinic and covering the treatment cost is very difficult. I don't have a car and the clinic fees are very high. I try to get support through instagram and facebook, to continue rescuing cats in need.
