Gray had trouble breathing and fever. He was brought to the vet, got X-rays and ultrasound, as well as pain meds, antibiotics and antipyrretics to bring the fever down. He will get another ultrasound the next day, with empty bowel, to discern a possible mass in the bowels.
Update: The vet say he has a bacterial infection, the antibiotics should help. The second ultrasound was normal, so the potential mass was just constipation luckily. He got dischared the next day.

He was a new arrival stray. He was so thin, his hair matted,he wasn't able to eat and drink so I took him to clinic.
The vet examined him and he found 3 wounds around his neck,he had a few rotten teeth as well, was dehydrated and malnutrited. The wound was cleaned. One of the wounds was caused by the rotten teeth, another seems to have come from a scratch and the third wound came from being bitten by another animal. This one was very deep . On the 1st day, the vet applied dewormer ,flea drops, cleaned and dressed the wounds, and removed the matted fur.
A week later he was well enough for anestesia ,they did stitches on the deep wound , tooth removed and neutered him.
They couldn't put a cone around neck because it would have been right on the wounds. Gray tore off the some stitches in the night. They could not restitch the wound, so they covered it with meshinstead. The wound got smaller over the course of 2 weeks but when they removed mesh on the wound ,gray scratched it again,
They applied ozon theraphy ,it did not have the desired effect, so the vet used cream instead.
Over time, with treatmen an patience, the wounds healed and I took Gray to my Garden in February 2025. He stayed there for a while, but it was too crowded for him, so he left to be on his own. I saw him again in May 2025, he is skittish and looks a little skinny again.

I am Ayse. I live in Izmir and have started rescuing cats from the street in 1991. The first cat I rescued is Toygar. I found him with a broken leg and brougth him to the vet. Over the years, I have helped by treating and neutering more cats than I can count. In the winter, fewer people care for the strays, so at times, I even take care of 50+ cats and some dogs. I feed the stray cats in my area and usually have between 12-15 cats living at my place. I always try to find good homes for cats, that have been treated successfully and have even found homes for some of them in Germany. In addition to the cats living with me, many strays come visit my house and garden every day. Nowadways, getting the cats to the clinic and covering the treatment cost is very difficult. I don't have a car and the clinic fees are very high. I try to get support through instagram and facebook, to continue rescuing cats in need.
