Tilly was a stray cat that found her way onto our property from an abandoned house, she was heavily pregnant. She was very hungry and had an infected eye. We fed her and treated her eye while gaining her trust. She progressed from being at the bottom of our garden to coming inside to give birth to 4 kittens. Unfortunately, only 3 kittens survived as one was the runt and had a common disease amongst stray kittens which we had treated to the best of our abilities. But the vet said there was nothing that could be done. Tilly's eye has fully recovered after additional medical treatment. She has had her vaccinations and is now recovering from being neutered. We are looking for donations to help towards these costs.
We have always loved cats and when we moved to Bulgaria, from the UK, we brought our 3 cats with us. Having previously seen the conditions and number of stray cats in Bulgaria, we knew we had to do something. We live in a small village in the Dobrich region of Bulgaria, we have an acre of land and have been here for almost 2 years.
Our first rescue kittens were Bandit and Peach, we met a lovely Bulgarian lady at the vets while taking one of our UK cats for a check-up. This was soon after we had arrived in Bulgaria. Violeta, now a very good friend, had 2 stray sick kittens with her which she couldn't find homes for as she already had 15 cats of her own. We decided to take them. This was the start of Catsville and since then many have turned up on our property, others we have been asked to take and then we have answered the call for help from those who had rescued some but couldn't keep them. This has led to 24 cats being in our care and now are family. Due to funding these cats ourselves, we are at capacity until we receive help with ongoing costs but there are soo many more in need who we want to help. Once we have more support, we will be able to rescue and save many more.
